EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING
2007-08
May 19, 2008
CALL TO ORDER: 7:05 p.m.
ATTENDANCE:
Dia Hernandez – President, JoAnn Kohler – Treasurer, Sandy Mann – Recording Secretary, Marc Norman – PTACHC Delegate, Debbie O’Byrne – Assistant Principal, Anita Kohler – SIT, Paula Palatella – 7th Grade Teacher Representative, Margie Malaney.
MINUTES:
There were no objections of the April minutes and reading of the minutes was waived. Motion was made and approved to accept the minutes as written.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Nominating Committee - We have successfully filled open officer positions. The nominations will be posted through e-school newsletter and announced at the concert on May 29th.
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL’S REPORT:
7TH Graders will be taking the HSA assessment on Thursday. The team is administering the Algebra test from 8-11:30. The test should be online next year.
Mount View was the fastest middle school to take the MSA Science test. It only took
3 ½ days – we used 2 labs at Marriott’s Ridge.
The 6th Graders are at outdoor ed. They’ll return on Wednesday.
For the last week of school we will have ½ days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The last day is June 13th.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
April and May Treasurer’s Reports were reviewed.
April Income Included: $34.29 Escrip and Box Tops, $3.56 Miscellaneous, $29.40 Other Fundraiser Income.
April Expenses Included: $1,184.36 School Spirit Activities, $19.98 Website, $270.98 Teacher Team Support. $225.00 Insurance- liability.
May Income Included: $3,259.70 Spiritwear Receipts
May Expenses Included: $3,000.00 6th Grade Activities (outdoor ed), $650.00 7th Grade Activities - End of Year, ($1,949.00) 8th Grade Activities – End of Year, $425.00 8th Grade Activities, $700.00 After School Activities/Programs, $50.00 Hospitality, $967.66 Teacher/Staff Appreciation.
Other Notes: We have cash receipts from the Drama production but checks were made out to the other company and need to be corrected so that payment is made to Mount View. After school enrichment was the teacher organized clubs. School spirit expense included fees for D.J. We still have no one to do the audit.
Staff is asking for more of a budget for PBIS next year as teachers were using team support monies for PBIS.
TEACHER REPORTS:
7th Grade: Paula Palatella reported. The make up day for the service day at Mt. Pleasant is tomorrow. ½ of the students will participate for make up. The end of year picnic is scheduled for June 4th at Centennial Park.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Ways and Means: We need to discuss the Sip & Support program for next year. Only 2 families receive the monthly direct ship. We’ll need a campaign to push it if we want to make funds.
We will not do Yankee Candle fundraiser unless they get online up and running and direct ship product to the customers. They are supposedly working on this.
School Support and Interaction: Parents as Partners is planning some activities for next year.
Hospitality: they are done for the year.
Student Support Activities: Cultural Arts didn’t do much this year. They would like to carry over funds for upcoming year and start scheduling some activities. Looking at International Drumming Corps. (2 shows for $1200) and “Math-o-matic” magician that focuses on Math (2 shows for $1,800).
DELEGATES REPORT:
The nominating committee for PTACHC has put forth their slate of officers for next year. Prepare for Success supplies deadline is June 2nd.

No old business to discuss.
NEW BUSINESS:
No new business to discuss.
